But once in a while, a reader writes and asks whether I would walk a day of Portugal with them in person. The answer is yes — sometimes. For small groups. Without a fixed itinerary. Without hurry.

What I do is not a tour. It is a long, unhurried day beside someone who has spent his life walking this country. If you would rather sit in a café for an hour than photograph a monument, we will sit. If you would rather walk another kilometre to a beach the coaches cannot reach, we will walk. The trip is yours; I only know the way.
